Methi Roti Recipe




Total Time:30 Minutes
Prep Time :20 Minutes
Cook Time:10 Minutes

Ingredients:
  • 3 Cup Atta (Whole wheat flour)
  • 1 Cup fresh methi leaves (chopped)
  • Salt as per taste
  • Red pepper as per requirement
  • 1tbsp-Turmeric Powder
  • 1tbsp- Oil for kneading
  • Warm water for kneading
Directions:

Step 1:  Mix atta, finely chopped methi leaves, red pepper(chili), turmeric powder by adding oil and water little by little to make a soft dough. Pour the oil and knead again for 2 min and keep it covered for 10 mins.

Step 2: Make small lemon sized balls and dust flour and roll them to round shapes of not very  thin and thick.

Step 3: Heat the tawa till hot on medium high flame. Dust off the excess flour from the roti & put it on the tawa.

Step 4: When it begins to puff, take a kitchen towel and a wooden spoon and press lightly to help in puffing. Drizzle some oil or ghee as per your choice.

Step 5: Flip it to the other side, repeat to press and cook till they are slightly browned. Put them one over the other to keep them soft during storage.

Step 6: When you are done with all the rotis, cover them to keep them soft.

Step 7: Serve methi roti with Butter, Yogurt and/or Pickle.
