Split Peas & Potato Curry Recipe










Total Time    : 35 Minutes.
Prep Time    : 10 Minutes.
Cook Time   : 25 Minutes.

 Ingredients:

  • 1- Cup Green Split Peas(boiled).
  • 2-3 - Potatoes (boiled).
  • 1 - Medium Onion, finely chopped.
  • 1 tbsp - Crushed Garlic
  • 1 tbsp - Grated fresh Ginger.
  • 1 tbsp - Red chilli.
  • 1 tbsp - Turmeric Powder.
  • 100 gm - Tomatoes.
  • 1 - Cup frozen pea.
  • 1/3 - Cup finely chopped fresh coriander leaves.
  • 1 - Cup of water ( According to consistency )
  • 1 tbsp - Oil.
  • Salt to taste.

Soak Split Pea (2 Hour)


                             
Boil Split Pea in Pressure Cooker


  • To start cooking split pea in the pressure cooker, first thoroughly drain the split peas completely and add the soaked washed split pea in to the pressure cooker, next add enough water so there is at least 2 inches of water above the split peas. 
  • Put the pressure cooker on medium high heat and cook until you hear 2 whistles, after 2 whistles turn the heat off. 
  • Once this is done wait for the pressure to release completely before opening the cooker, wait for 5 Minute. Once you open the cooker, gently press the split peas with the back of a spoon. They should be soft and disintegrate easily. 
  • Pour the boiled split pea over a colander. 
  • Cut the boiled Potato in small cubes. 

                                

                                

                                

                                


  • Heat oil in a large pan over medium heat, add onion, garlic, ginger, stirring for 3 to 5 minutes or until onion become softened. Add tomato, turmeric powder, stir for 2 minute, add boiled split pea mixture, add 1/2 cup cold water to pan, bring to the boil 5 minute and add boiled potato and frozen pea, stir to combine, cook for 10-11 minutes until peas are tender or add water according to consistency. Gently press the green pea with the back of a spoon. if they are tender, it means they are ready.

Simple Red Lentil(Dal) and Rice Recipe


Total Time:15 Minutes.
Prep Time: 5 Minutes.
Cook Time:10 Minutes.

Ingredients:
  • 1-Cup Red Lentil
  • 1-Medium Onion.
  • 1 tbs -Grated Ginger .
  • 1 tbs - Garlic Crushed.
  • 1 tbs Red Chilli.
  • 1 tbs Tomato Paste.
  • 1 tbs- Turmeric Powder.
  • 1 tbs -Cumin Powder.
  • Salt to taste.

Direction: How to Make Red Lentil  Recipe.





  1. To start cooking lentil in the pressure cooker, first thoroughly wash the lentil under running water.
  2. Put the pressure cooker without lid on medium high eat, add 1 tbs oil, add cumin seeds, onion, ginger, garlic, red chilli, tomato paste, turmeric powder and salt to taste. Drain the lentils completely and add the washed lentils in to the pressure cooker, next add enough water so there is at least 2 inches of water above the lentils.
  3. Place the lid on the pressure cooker, cook until you hear 2 whistles, after 2 whistles, turn the flame off.
  4. Once this is done wait for the pressure to release completely before opening the cooker. This process may take up to 5 to 6 Minutes.
  5. Once you open the cooker, gently press the lentils with the back of a spoon,they should be soft disintegrate easily. The lentils are now ready.

2: How to make Plain Rice Recipe.

Total Time: 20 Minutes.
Prep Time : 5 Minutes.
Cook Time: 15 Minutes.

Ingredients:
  • I-Cup Long grain Rice.
  • 2-Cups Water.
  • 1-tbs Salt.
  • 1-tbs Oil/ Butter
Direction: 

  1. Wash rice gentle under running water.
  2. For fluffier rice, the rice should be soaked for at least 10 minutes prior to cooking.
  3. Drain the rice put in to the saucepan, add the water oil, salt, bring to a boil and turn the heat to low, and cover the pan.
  4. Cook rice for about 15 minutes,or until the rice is tender and the water has evaporated. Turn off the heat.

Mooli (Radish) Paratha



Total Time  : 30 Minutes.
Prep Time   : 10 Minutes.
Cook Time  : 20 Minutes.

Ingredients:

    • 3-4 medium to large Mooli (Radish) with or without leaves.
    • 2 green Chillies finely chopped.
    • 1-tbs  grated ginger.
    • 1-tbs turmeric powder.
    • 1-tbs garam masala powder .
    • Whole wheat flour dough (atta)
    • Ghee OR oil for frying
    • Salt as required.


Direction: How to make Mooli Paratha Recipe.




·        Prepare the whole wheat dough and keep it a side.
·        Now take grated mooli in to bowl and squeeze out all the water.
·        Heat the oil in a pan on medium heat and then add chopped green chillies,ginger and turmeric powder ,garam masala,  salt,  mooli  (radish), mix well.
·        Cook till mixture become dry, make sure that , it doesn't have any moisture in it, remove it to let it cool completely.


  • Now make small size balls from the dough and roll them into small circles.
  • Take appropriate amount of the mooli stuffing and place it on one of rolled dough. (don't use too much stuffing, otherwise the mooli parathas can break while rolling).
  • In the meantime, heat the tawa pan, roll the dough in to the size of a paratha. As salt is added to the mooli, it may give out some moisture from parathas, it is normal and ok.
  • Roll in to medium sized roti paratha or rounds.
  • Place the rolled mooli paratha on a hot tava.
  • When one side is lightly cooked then flip it and then spread ghee or oil on the partially cooked side, flip again with the help of tongs or spatula, you will see some brown spots on the parantha, apply same ghee or oil to this side too.
  • Flip the mooli paratha a couple of times, also press the edges of the carrot paratha with a spatula, so they are cooked properly all sides.
  • Once the parathas are cooked well, remove the parathas, similarly prepare the remaining parathas.

Avocado Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 2 Slices whole grain bread(you can roast the bread)
  • 2 tbs Spread cheese.
  • 1/2 Avocado
  • Salt to taste.

 How to make this recipe.

  •  If you prefer breads in toasted form, you can toast it first.


  • Cut the avocado half, remove pit and put in to the bowl and mash it.




  • First apply the spread cheese on the bread and then avocado mash and add salt to taste, now just close the sandwich with the second slice of bread.


  • Simple healthy snack and you can add Tomato, Cucumber, and Slice Cheese and enjoy with hot drink.

Plain Yellow Rice














Total Time:12 Minute

Ingredients

1 Cup Rice
2 & Half Cup Water
10 ml Oil
1tbs Turmeric Powder
Salt to Taste

How to make this Recipe:


Step 1 - Soak the rice in the water for 30 Minutes

Step 2 - Drain the rice

Step 3 - When the oil is hot, add soaked rice, add salt and turmeric powder and mix it. 
 Add 2 & half cup of water and cook it for 10 mins and turn the heat off and leave for 5 mins.

Step 4 - Take the rice out on the plate and eat with yogurt



Kale Mushrooms Curry


















Total Time :20 mins

Cooking Time:  15 mins

                                                            Ingredients 


  • Kale-  250 gm 
  • Mushrooms-100 gm
  • Onions -2-3
  • Tomato -2 
  • Ginger- chopped
  • Turmeric -1tbs
  • Salt to taste
  • Water-1 cup


Directions


How to make this recipe

Boil kale and mushrooms in separate pan till they became tender.


Heat 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil(optional) in large pan on medium heat. Add chopped onions and saute for 2-3 minutes add ginger, tomato and saute for 2-3 mins and add turmeric powder  and salt and add boil mushrooms and grind kale and stir to combine. Add boiled water.         


Garnish with butter and eat with Chapati or Rice as per your choice.

Tea Masala Recipe


Prep  Time: 5 Mintues
Cook Time: 6-10 Mintunes


Ingredients:

Cloves                     - 5 pcs

Green Cardamons  - 6 pcs
Dry Ginger              - 2 teaspoon
Cinnamon               - 2 inch sticks
Black Pepper          - 16 pcs
Water                       - 1 Cup
Milk                          - 1 Cup
Tea                           - 1 teaspoon
Sugar                       - 2 teaspoon

How to make this recipe:

Step-1 Dry grind all the masala (spice) ingredients to a fine powder. For grinding we can use pestle mortar or grinder machine. Let it cool completely then sieve.


Step-2 For making tea, boil one cup of water and add tea, sugar, tea masala and boil for 3-4 mins on medium flame and then add 1 cup of milk and boil it for 2 mins.

Methi Roti Recipe

Cook Time:10 Minutes

Ingredients:
  • 3 Cup Atta (Whole wheat flour)
  • 1 Cup fresh methi leaves (chopped)
  • Salt as per taste
  • Red pepper as per requirement
  • 1tbsp-Turmeric Powder
  • 1tbsp- Oil for kneading
  • Warm water for kneading
Directions:

Step 1:  Mix atta, finely chopped methi leaves, red pepper(chili), turmeric powder by adding oil and water little by little to make a soft dough. Pour the oil and knead again for 2 min and keep it covered for 10 mins.

Step 2: Make small lemon sized balls and dust flour and roll them to round shapes of not very  thin and thick.

Step 3: Heat the tawa till hot on medium high flame. Dust off the excess flour from the roti & put it on the tawa.

Step 4: When it begins to puff, take a kitchen towel and a wooden spoon and press lightly to help in puffing. Drizzle some oil or ghee as per your choice.

Step 5: Flip it to the other side, repeat to press and cook till they are slightly browned. Put them one over the other to keep them soft during storage.

Step 6: When you are done with all the rotis, cover them to keep them soft.

Step 7: Serve methi roti with Butter, Yogurt and/or Pickle.









Butter From Thickened Cream Recipe



Total Time:15 Minutes


Ingredients:

250 ml : Thickened Cream
1 Cup   : Cold Water

Directions:
How to make this recipe:
  •  Pour 250 ml thickened cream into stand mixing blender jug.
  • Set speed to medium and continue whipping until cream forms clotted clumps and buttermilk begins to separate. (Put some chilled water according to consistency)
  • When butter gets separated from milk, pour it in to a sieve over a bowl and squeeze out any excess buttermilk. You can store it in the container in controlled temperature or fridge for upto week or in the Freezer for 2 month.
Note: You can mix the butter with salt, any type of herbs.





Zucchini and Soya Chunks Curry


Total Time:30 Minutes
Prep Time :10 Minutes
Cook Time :20 Minutes


Ingredients :

  • Zucchini-Half Kg.
  • Boiled Soya Chunks-2 Cups.
  • Onion-1(Chopped)
  • Ginger-2-3 Slice (Chopped)
  • Turmeric powder-1 tbs.
  • Red Chilly Powder-1 tbs.
  • Cumin Seeds-1 tbs.
  • Garam Masala-1 tbs.
  • Tomatoes Paste-1 1/2 tbs
  • Salt to taste.
  • Cup of milk-1/2.
  • Cup of Water-1/2.


Direction:
  1. Wash Zucchini and peeled them and cut in to chunks (According to your choice).







2. Boil the Soya Chunks for 5-6 minutes and pour in to a sieve and squeeze out any excess water.


       
3. Heat 1 tbs oil, add cumin seeds, then chopped onions ans saute till the onions turn light brown. Then add ginger (chopped), turmeric powder, red chilly powder, salt to taste, garam masala, stir continuously, add tomatoes paste and let the mixture cook for at least 5 minutes.

4. Now add Zucchini, boiled Soya Chunks and half cup of milk and half cup of water, cover and cook the mixture for 15 minutes till when it is done, you can check the Zucchini during the cooking time, just mash one piece of the zucchini  with cooking spoon. if it is mash then it means  Zucchini is done.


 5. Finally add chopped coriander and turn off the flame.


Serve hot with any roti varieties or rice.





Kadhi Paneer Recipe


Total Time :40 Minutes.
Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Cook Time :30 Minutes.


Ingredients:

  • Besan (Chickpea Flour)-1/2 cup.
  • Yogurt (Curd)-2 cups.
  • Water- 5 Cups or more (according to the consistency)
  • Coriander leaves- Chopped.
  • Ginger and Garlic Paste-1 tsp each.
  • Mustard and Cumin Seeds 1 tsp each.
  • Onion-1
  • Red Chili-1 tbs.
  • Garam Masala-1 tbs.
  • Turmeric Powder-1 tbs.
  • Tomato Paste-2 tbs.
  • Salt to taste
  • Paneer(cottage)-100 gm.
  • Curry Leaves-2-3.
  • Oil - 2 tbs.
Direction:
 How to make this recipes:
  1. Take the mixing bowl and sieve the besan (chickpea) flour in it.
  2. Whisk the yogurt (Curd) and add it slowly to the flour and keep stirring with the spoon, to avoid any lump formation. Add water little by little. Add turmeric to it now and stir till it dissolves. Set aside.



3. Heat little oil in a non-stick frying pan, shallow fry paneer pieces by turning both sides on a low flame till it turn brown (about 8 minutes)




4. Heat the oil in the deep cooking pan, lower the flame to low, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, red chili, garam masala, curry leaves, cook for 1 minutes until the cumin and mustard seeds start getting dark and add onion and saute till the onions turn light brown. Add ginger, garlic paste along with tomato paste, cook for 2-3 min, add salt to taste.

5. Pour the chickpea flour/yogurt mixture and water in to the pan. Cook for 5 minutes on medium -high heat until it boils.

6. Cover with a lid and cook for 20 minutes on low heat.

7. After 20 minutes, add shallow paneer, coriander chopped leaves and turn off the flame.
