Bhatura Recipe





Prep Time:2 hour
Cooking Time:1 to 2 minutes per bhatura


Ingredients:

  • 2-Cup Maida / all purpose flour /plain flour
  • 1-Cup Yogurt/Curd
  • 2 tbs-Sugar
  • 1 tbs- sooji/semolina
  • 1/2 tbs-Baking powder
  • 1/2 tbs-Salt
  • 1 tbs-Oil
  • Water for kneading as required
  • Oil for deep frying

 Prepare the Bhatura  Dough
  • Sieve the maida with baking soda,and add sooji(semolina), and then add yogurt/curd ,sugar,salt and mix well and start ti knead dough,add very little water just 1/2 tbs,knead the dough,make a smooth and soft,,grease the dough with oil. cover with cloth and rest for 2.5 hours.
Frying Bhatura :







  • Heat oil in a pan /kadai for deep frying.
  • Make small to medium sized ball  from the dough.
  • Take a ball and flatten them and made a shape oval or elongated shape,make neither thick or thin bhatura.
  • When the oil is sufficiently hot ,add one bhatura,and press with spoon to puff of.
  • Flip over and fry the bhatura till golden brown all over
  • When the bhatura is light golden,remove and drain on kitchen papaer towel to remove excess oil.
  • Make the rest of the bhaturas this way.
  • Serve the bhatura hot with white chana (Chickpea)masala.
