Bitter Gourd(Karela) Curry Recipe



Total Time:15-Minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 7-8-Bitter gourd(Karela)
  • 1-Medium onion chopped
  • 1 tbs-Ginger-chopped
  • 1 tbs-Garlic cloves chopped
  • 2-Green chilli chopped
  • 1 tbs-Cumin seeds
  • 1 tbs-Dry fengureek leaves
  • 1 tsp-Turmeric powder
  • 2 tbs-Oil
  • 1/2-Cup of water
  • Salt taste

Direction:How To Cook This:



  • Wash and slice bitter gourd thinly and also discard seeds if you prefer.








  • Heat oil in a pan,saute cumin seeds until they crackle and add chopped onion,saute until they turn light brown and then add ginger,garlic and saute for a minutes and then add green chilli,dry fengureek  leaves ,turmeric powder,salt to taste and saute for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • And then add bitter gourd slices ,cover and cook on a low heat until soft cooked ,if the curry looks very dry and then add 1/2 cup of water,if needed add more,when cooked ,add coriander leaves ,mix well.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl or plate.
  • Serve bitter gourd curry with rice or roti.
