Quick Rajma(Kidney Beans) Rice Recipe



Cook Time:35 -40 Minutes.

Ingredients:
  • 1 or 2 Cup-Rajma or Kidney beans
  • 1-Onion,chopped
  • 1/2 tbs-Ginger,chopped
  • 1/2 tbs-Garlic cloves,chopped
  • 1 tbs- Cumin seeds
  • 1 tbs-Tomato paste
  • 1 tbs-Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp-Red pepper
  • 1 tbs-Oil for cooking
  • Salt to taste
  • Water
  • Chopped fresh coriander chopped
Direction:How To Cook.

  • Wash and soak rajma(kidney beans) for 8 hour in enough water or overnight
  • Discard the water and rinse them well .






  • Heat the oil in pressure cooker and add cumin seeds until it sizzles and add  onion,ginger,garlic ,saute them for 1 or 2 minutes and add turmeric powder,salt to taste,red pepper powder,tomato paste and mix well.
  • And now add soaked rajma (Kidney beans)and add water 4-5 -cup of water,close the pressure cooker with lid and cook for 30 minutes at high  pressure.
  •  And after 30 minutes ,stop the flame and naturally release pressure.


  • Once the pressure settles down on its own,open the lid and check the beans,the rajma has to be cooked completely.
  • Press a few rajma (kidney-beans) and they should be mash,if the rajma(Kidney beans) are still not cooked completely,then add 1 cup more of water and pressure again for 2 or 3 whistles.


  • When rajma(Kidney beans) cooked and then  if you want thicken the rajma gravy more,then press the few rajma beans with the back of a spoon to thicken the consistency, add  chopped coriander,and mix well 
  • Serve warm with rice ,roti,naan.






Ingredients:
I-Cup Long grain Rice.
2-Cups Water.
1-tsp Salt.
1-tbs Oil/ Butte
wash and drain the  rice and put in to the  pan ,add water,oil,salt,bring to a boil and turn the heat to low,cover the pan.cook rice for about 10 minutes or until the rice is tender and water has evaporated.
