Cooking Time:4-5 Minute per cheela(pancake)
Ingredients:
- 1/2 Cup-Sooji(Semolina)
- 1/2 Cup-Curd(Yogurt)
- 1 Carrot,grated
- 1 Onion slices
- salt to taste
- 1 tsp-Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp-Red chilli powder(Optional)
- 1 tsp-Gram masala(Optional)
- Water
- Oil for cooking.
- Firstly ,grate the carrot and cut the onion into slices.
- Take a bowl and add semolina(sooji) and add yogurt and add grated carrot ,onion slices,red chilli power,salt,garam masala ,turmeric powder and add 1/4 cup water and mix well and make a smooth batter.
- The batter should neither be too thick or too liquid,maintain a dropping consistency.
- Heat a pan and spread a bit of oil in it.
- Take a ladle of the batter and gently spread the batter on the pan to make small to medium cheela.
- Pour 1 tsp of oil around the edges.
- Cover and cook the cheela(pancake) for 2 minutes on a low to medium flame, and till it gets cooked well.
- When the base has cooked and become light golden,then flip and cook the other side and sprinkle some oil on the top.
- When the second side gets light golden,then remove the sooji cheela(pancake) .
- Serve sooji cheela hot or warm with any chutney or sauce or with butter.
